Tampons

health, tampons September 11th, 2007

A tampon is a hygienic absorbent material, such as cotton for example, which should be inserted into a Body cavity or wound to absorb fluid. It is designed to be inserted into the vagina during menstruation to absorb the flow of blood.

The tampons appeared long ago. In Ancient Egypt women were already using some sort of tampons during their menstruation.

Modern women have a choice between tampons and pads. Some women like more hygienic pads than tampons because they seem to be easier to use. I want to investigate this problem, and see which way is more efficient and better.

Tampons protect you 100%, if you change them every 4-8 hours, than you can be sure that there will be no blood spots on your clothes. The problem with pads is that they are getting full and you may have problems. But tampons may not be comfortable if you place them not really good.

It is also good to you some everyday pads, like these one from the picture.
There are different types of tampons: mini, regular, super, super plus. Which one do you choose? There are also tampons with applicator, in order to make the introducing of it easier. Some companies also offer packages for each used tampon, which seems to be very nice.
What do you think about it?
